Power Industry

Power plant are industrial facilities that convert energy sources such as coal, natural gas, hydropower, wind, and nuclear energy into electrical energy. They are categorized based on energy type into thermal power, hydropower, nuclear power, wind power and others. Core equipment includes boilers (or reactors), steam turbines and generators, which transform raw energy into electricity through an energy conversion process before integrating it into the power grid. As the cornerstone of modern power systems, power plants continuously advance technological innovation and environmental upgrades to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

Power Industry Pure Water Preparation

Pure water sources include surface water (rivers, lakes), groundwater (well water, spring water) and seawater, with seawater being suitable for coastal areas or regions lacking freshwater. As boiler feed water, pure water effectively reduces scaling and corrosion, enhancing equipment operational efficiency and safety.

Shuiyi recommends pure water preparation process is as follow: Pretreated water is filtered through ultrafiltration membranes to remove particles and suspended solids, providing stable feed water for the reverse osmosis system. Depending on the water source, specialized membrane modules can be configured: 1) For surface water/ground water, the RBW-FR series reclaimed water reverse osmosis membranes with high salt rejection and fouling resistance are recommended; 2) For seawater, the Procycle high-pressure reverse osmosis membranes are recommended; 3) If the permeate from the first-stage reverse osmosis is stored in an intermediate tank before entering the second-stage system, the RBW-FRLE series reclaimed water reverse osmosis membrane modules are recommended for high-flux and low-pressure operation.

Wastewater Treatment and Reuse

Power plant wastewater primarily consists of circulating cooling blowdown wastewater and wet flue gas desulfurization wastewater. Circulating cooling blowdown wastewater is characterized by high salinity, elevated organic content, high levels of suspended solids, the presence of scale and biocidal inhibitors and relatively high temperature. We recommend adopting an integrated MBR + Pretreatment + RO process to ensure the effluent meets reuse standards. Meanwhile, wet flue gas desulfurization wastewater is typically treated for “zero liquid discharge”. Shuiyi’s Resalt series water reuse RO membranes and Procycle high-pressure RO membranes are ideally suited for these applications. They remove inorganic ions and organic matter from the incoming wastewater through membrane separation technology, producing high-quality reclaimed water.
